Create.Make.Lead Summer Camp Recap!
2018 Summer Camp @ Catylator

Our 2018 Create.Make.Lead. Summer Camp is a week-long exploration focusing on self-discovery and creation to foster empowered, girl-positive communities, led by 10 year girl empowerment veteran Lindsey Turnbull of MissHeardMedia.com. Our camp took place at Catylator Makerspace in Silver Spring, MD.

Throughout the week, we had a lot of great conversations about leadership, being ourselves, and what changes we wanted to see in the world. We made cool stuff, had dance parties, and even ate ice cream.

One of the highlights of the week was creating group poems. Here is one of our group poems, read by each camper.

Here is a selection of photos and a video from our amazing week!

My daughter thought it was a great experience. Thank you!!!

A huge thank you to Steve at Catylator, Emily, his summer assistant, Elle, the summer intern, Meagan of Meagan Healy Studios, and SS Letters founders Christy (Christy Batta Designs) and Amina (HandMade Habitat)!

P.S. Catylator is closing as of Sept 2018. If you know of or own a makerspace and are interested in hosting a single day, multi-day or week-long camp in 2019, please use the contact page to reach out to us!
