The 2019 Girl Powered Planner:
FUNDED!

Our biggest project yet!

I’m THRILLED to announce that the 2019 Girl Powered Planner is officially 105+% funded with over 130 supporters.

You all, I am always one for words, but when I saw this Kickstarter pass the $5,000 mark, I was speechless. Just two weeks ago, a consultant told me I’d never make it. Just a week ago, the Kickstarter was stuck at $3365.  And now WE’RE HERE!

THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.  This absolutely would not be possible without the amazing community (all of you!) that I am privileged to be a part of. I cannot thank you enough for helping to turn this dream into a reality.

Planners are available HERE for $18 plus tax and shipping.

“MissHeard’s Girl Powered Planner is beyond awesome! Everything from the size and layout make it ideal. You’ve curated a terrific mix of the light-hearted (World Emoji Day) to courageous acts of Barbara Rose Johns and dozens of other. Also love the “Meet Your Representative” month along with telephone script. The additional activists, movies, books, etc. in the back keep the girl power engine running.” – Wendy Schaetzel Lesko, founder Youth Activism Project

Full text of video: I am so, so excited to announce MissHeard Media’s biggest project yet: The 2019 Girl Powered Planner! I’ve been working on this idea for about a year and I couldn’t be more thrilled to see it finally happening.

The Girl Powered Planner *looks* like an ordinary planner- spiral bound, cardboard cover…but it’s more than that. Inside, there are 365 days of self-care tips, fun ideas, and of course, the accomplishments of American heroes- all of them are girls and young women under 25.

That’s right- I rounded up hundreds of young women and important events related to young women, and they’re all in this planner so that YOU can be inspired and motivated every day.

So, why the 2019 Girl Powered Planner?

As the founder of MissHeard Media, it’s pretty clear that I am passionate about empowering and educating young women. My other passion is history- I earned a master’s in history, my thesis focused on race and womanhood in 2012.

I fell in love with history in high school, although I did not learn about many female historical figures in the classroom; I met them through my own study, or even in graduate school. Young women should not have to wait until graduate school to meet the amazing young women that shaped our nation.

This planner introduces dozens of incredible, change-making, inspiring young women and girls that will motivate you to chase your wildest dreams.

Just a few examples of inspiring girls and young women in this planner:

  • Mari aka Little Miss Flint, a superstar activist who is dedicated to getting clean water for her town.
  • Amanda Gorman, the first ever youth poet laureate
  • Diane Nash, a leader of the Civil Rights movement who led sit ins while she was in college
  • Claudette Colvin, a civil rights leader who was arrested for sitting in the “white” section of the bus, months before Rosa Parks.

Of course, there are many, many more activists, politicians, athletes, writers, artists….AND the planner also has ideas for reading lists, movie nights, and mantras, so you can learn more about the girls and women you meet in the Girl Powered Planner.

The 2019 Girl Powered Planner lets girls see themselves reflected in history and will inspire them (and you, adults!) year-round. You can view the successful Kickstarter page here! !
