Worth, a poem by Trinity Sunshine Lashawn

Worth, a poem by Trinity Sunshine Lashawn

don’t need a man to feel good about myself I don’t need a man for security why?
because I had a dad who taught me all the tricks and tools of the game
most importantly I had a dad who taught me my worth
he taught me about the meaning of my very existence on this earth
therefore I know my worth
I know that I am worth more than only getting text from guys after midnight I
know that my curves are attractive
but baby I know that my brain is radioactive in there swear I’m holding a bomb with all that knowledge
I also know that with or without a boyfriend I’m going to college
I’m not going to pause my dreams for a man who only wants one thing
speaking of wanting one thing I also know I worth getting a wedding ring
and to end this list of all these things I am worth
I know that I am the child of a king who created heaven and earth
therefore I do not need a man to determine my worth.
