March Theme: Women’s Rights
for Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month, where we explore the contributions of black, latinx, asian, african, disabled, LGBT, white, WOMEN to history and culture. To celebrate this year, we want to explore women’s and girls’ rights, in the US and around the world. Women’s rights are human rights
Want to talk about women’s and girls’ rights, but not sure where to start?
Here are some ideas:
- The quality of education for girls and women at home and around the world
- Healthcare access for girls and women at home around the world
- Menstrual health and hygiene
- Femicide
- #MeToo/Time’s Up
- R. Kelly’s abuse of girls
- Female Genital Cutting
- Women in the workforce
- Make a playlist
- Analyze a TV show, movie, or other piece of pop culture
- Something else entirely! The sky’s the limit- we love to hear and share all kinds of ideas.
The National Women’s History Alliance notes that this year’s Women’s History Month theme is “Visionary Women: Champions of Peace & Nonviolence,” and celebrates women who have led efforts to end war, injustice, and violence, using nonviolent tactics.
We invite you to share articles, interviews, listicles, personal essays, art, poetry, photography, playlists, music- whatever format helps you share your thoughts.
